USPS India Tracking

I was sent a package and was provided a tracking number for UPS from whose website I was able to get an alternate tracking number in the form of UM\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*US where I was able to see that it arrived in India around a month ago. The same tracking number when entered on India Post shows that no parcel has been booked under that number. Who can I contact in such a scenario? I have made numerous occurrences like this over the past 2-3 years, sometimes the packages arrive and sometimes they don’t. This time it’s a very important one so I would ideally like to find a way to get some information on whom to contact about this.
